GCW worked with various stakeholders to appraise the chosen town centre site for a potential mixed-use scheme that was designed to create a night time economy for Redhill and improve its retail offer. It then marketed the development opportunity through the OJEU Competitive Dialogue process and worked with the local authority to short-list and select a developer. GCW was involved in documenting the development agreement with the selected partner, CoPlan Estates.
The development will create a new six-screen cinema, four large glass-fronted retail units, four family-style restaurants and approximately 90 apartments. It will replace the council-owned Marketfield Way car park plus twelve retail units with offices above. The site is opposite the main entrance to the Belfry Shopping Centre and is a prime retail pitch in the town centre. GCW has now been retained to market the scheme and a planning application has been submitted.
