Bishop’s Stortford.

At Unit 31 Jackson Square, letting of a 568 sq ft space to women’s clothing boutique, Almamia Collection. Rent of £32,000 pa on a 5-year lease with 4 months rent free.

Bromley.

A new acquisition on behalf of Popeyes involves a new 15-year lease and a rent of £85,000 pa for a prominent corner unit. 

Canterbury.

At 32-33 High Street, GCW has completed a new acquisition for Savers on a 5,500 sq ft unit, with a 10-year lease, a break at fifth-year and rent of £97,500 pa. 

Chelmsford.

Unit 2, 96-98 Springfield Road has been acquired for Loaf at a rent of £100,250 pa on a 10-year lease, with a break at the fifth-year. The unit of 5,500 sq ft sits adjacent to Majestic Wine, with 15 shared car- parking spaces.

Cheltenham.

A letting to Holland & Barrett of a 2,500 sq ft retail space is based on a new 10-year lease at a rent of £140,000 pa.

Clapham Junction.

On behalf of a private landlord, GCW has completed a new letting to Costadoro, the European coffee wholesaler and café group. This is just the second UK café site for the group, taken on a 15-year lease at a rent of £37,500 pa.

Exeter.

At Units 18-19, St Thomas Shopping Centre, a new acquisition has been completed for Savers on a 3,200 sq ft unit, with a 10-year lease.

Fulham.

A letting of a former Simmons bar to D’Cocina, the Filipino restaurant group expanding across London and the UK. 15-year lease agreed at a rent of £75,000 pa.

Godalming.

GCW has successfully acquired 87 High Street, Godalming for Vinegar Hill – the homeware and lifestyle retailer’s first store in Surrey. A new 10-year lease with fifth-year tenant break option was agreed at an initial rent of £35,000 pa.   

Haywards Heath.

Jeweller TH Baker has signed up for a new 10-year lease at Unit A The Orchards, in a highly prominent position fronting onto South Road. The rent is £50,000 pa for the unit of around 2,800 sq ft.

Hempstead Valley.

At Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre, The Perfume Shop has upsized to Unit 6 at the centre of the scheme, taking a 10-year lease at a rent of £70,000 pa for the unit of around 1,200 sq ft. 

Henley.

Two new lettings at Gardiner Place see gelato operator Amorino taking around 520 sq ft at 24 Market Place, at a rent of £40,000 pa, and Sumomo Sushi taking around 800 sq ft at Unit 3 Gardiner Place, at a rental of £35,000 pa.

Lewes.

Acting on behalf of Vinegar Hill, GCW has acquired 7 High Street, Lewes, on a new lease at a rent of £50,000 pa for a term of 10 years with a fifth- year tenant-only break option.

London.

Acting on behalf of the owner of 10 Fleet Place, GCW is helping to fill retail and leisure space on the ground floor of this office block development. With office workers coming back into the city, the letting of Unit 2A to Urban Baristas is set to strengthen the asset’s appeal. The tenant has signed up to a 10-year lease on the unit of around 1,500 sq ft, set to open in close proximity to CNBC’s newly refurbished multimedia hub fronting Fleet Place Square. 

Peckham.

Savers has upsized and relocated to Unit 5, The Aylesham Centre,  Rye Lane. The 5,500 sq ft unit is on a 10-year lease, with a break at fifth-year and rent of £160,000 pa.

Portsmouth.

GCW has completed a new acquisition for Savers at 81 London Road, North End, on a 2,900 sq ft unit, with a 10-year lease. 

Richmond.

A freehold purchase of a Jigsaw store, on behalf of the landlord of the adjacent building, will provide a good rental income in the short term. In addition, the transaction unlocks redevelopment potential for the future, as the landlord’s enlarged holding will enable a more- comprehensive redevelopment of the upper floors.

Sheffield.

At Orchard Square, a regear of TK Maxx’s lease has helped ensure the continuing appeal of the centre, which is anchored by TK Maxx and Waterstones, with other recognised brands and an eclectic mix of independent F&B operators. The lease had only 6 months left to run, and the regear has extended it to 10 years with a tenant break in the fifth-year, at a rent of £260,000 pa. TK Maxx has supported this commitment by investing in a refresh of the 45,000 sq ft store, including new signage. The retailer had considered other options in the city, including relocating to Fargate, before deciding to commit its future to Orchard Square, where it has been a tenant since the late 1990s.

Stratford.

Unit R2, Sugar House Island, a space of 753 sq ft, has been let to Dream Nails on a 10-year lease.

Streatham.

Acting for a private landlord, GCW has secured a rent of £95,000 pa on a 10-year lease to Screwfix City. 

Sutton.

On behalf of Lidl, GCW has acquired a former Wilko store on Sutton High Street. The retailer has taken the 24,000 sq ft unit on a new 20- year lease.

Wandsworth.

At Southside Shopping Centre, Dunelm has taken a 9,007 sq ft unit formerly occupied by River Island. The retailer’s most recent London acquisition follows on the format of its Westfield London store, and reflects the desire to locate close to young professional customers, putting the brand front and centre for home purchases. 

Weybridge.

Following the success of Vinegar Hill’s store in Godalming, GCW has acquired a new premises for the retailer in the centre of Weybridge High Street. The transaction is based on a 10-year lease with a fifth-year tenant break option at a rent of £50,000 pa.
