Waitrose & Zara commit in Windsor

December 2004

London & Associated Properties PLC announce that supermarket retailer Waitrose has pre-let a 42,500 sq ft unit, at an annual rent of £700,000, in the partial redevelopment of King Edward Court, Windsor. In addition Spanish fashion retailer Zara has committed to a 17,000 sq ft store.

Waitrose and Zara join New Look and H & M who committed earlier this year to the 100,000 sq ft redevelopment of King Edward Court which LAP owns in joint venture with Bank of Scotland. These lettings mean that the redeveloped part of the centre is over 90% prelet before construction has commenced.

A start on site is programmed for February 2005 with completion in late 2006. On completion the redevelopment will increase the retail content of King Edward Court by 60,000 sq ft to over 215,000 sq ft. Gooch Cunliffe Whale are advising LAP throughout the development & letting process.
