Primark has moved to a new store on The Moor in Sheffield and the vacant store has been purchased by local private investor and developer, Hartshead Group.
GCW will act with joint agent Lane Walker to attract new uses for the lower ground, ground and first floors, targeting gym, leisure, bar and restaurant businesses. The landlord is seeking £300,000 pa for the 28,000 sq ft of commercial space which will be adapted for up to five new operators. The upper parts will be occupied by a 30,000 sq ft Easy Hotel which is due to open in August this year.
The building is located on High Street, Sheffield in an area where retail is diminishing. It is directly opposite Sheffield Hallam University and within a busy office area.
“Retail in Sheffield is alive and well but no longer thrives in this location. We are confident that there will be lots of demand and our knowledge of alternative occupiers will help us to create the right mix for the location” says GCW director Simon Horner.
Once fully let, GCW will take the investment to the market at the end of the year.
