GCW’s proven ability to kick-start the performance of ailing shopping centres is in demand with the firm winning several new appointments in the last few months including Kings Mall in Hammersmith.
GCW takes on King’s Mall shopping centre in Hammersmith for its new owner Matterhorn Capital. It will work as joint agents with Cushman & Wakefield on the 430,000 sq ft scheme which offers over 40 retail units and is anchored by Primark, Sainsbury’s, New Look and River Island.
“The centre has been under invested for many years so there is a real opportunity to refurbish and realign the tenant mix. King’s Mall has been in the shadow of Westfield but is now starting to bounce back. Active asset management will see the centre improve dramatically. It can provide a stronger fashion and convenience shopping offer” says GCW director Duncan Kite.
Matterhorn bought the centre from St Martins Property Holdings earlier this year for £113.5 million and is a new client for GCW.
