Led by director, Simon Horner and associate director, Tim Ashe, the team will advise on some of the market’s fastest growing sectors. The move comes as GCW is increasingly being called in to give advice to developers looking to promote mixed-use schemes and by occupiers looking for alternative locations.
“We are really excited about the possibilities for GCW to expand in this sector. Our knowledge has come from exploring alternative uses for retailing space. We are in a strong position and our team can offer joined-up thinking across the Alternative Sectors” says Horner.
“Retail locations across our towns and cities are now appealing to a far greater range of occupiers. From student housing to leisure operators, the market is being transformed with a new wave of occupiers with an appetite to co-exist with traditional retailers and compete for the best real estate.”
GCW’s existing work includes helping occupiers such as KFC and Tesco Express secure sites in fringe-of-town locations, advising fitness chain énergie Group on its roll out across the UK, finding sites for nursery operator Busy Bees and identifying potential opportunities for Lidl in mixed use schemes. The team also works with student housing company, Unite, hotel operator, Moxy and Gracewell Healthcare.
