Debenhams to anchor new scheme for Bury

July 2006

Debenhams has signed to anchor Thornfield Properties' £220 million regeneration of Bury Town Centre - The Rock. The letting will bring the first department store to Bury and Thornfield Properties' Chief Executive, Jason Marcus, has said the developer is working with Debenhams and Bury Metropolitan Borough Council to realise the vision for “one of the most exciting regeneration projects in the north west”.

The 102,500 ft² Debenhams will anchor the 750,000 ft² scheme, which is called The Rock and will include 450,000 ft² of retail floor space, 110,000 ft² of leisure, including a 10 screen multiplex, bowling, cafés & restaurants and 200 residential units.

The scheme will also provide 1,000 car parking spaces for shoppers. GCW and CBRE are Thornfield’s letting agents for the project.
