A team of 14 GCW staff have raised more than £20,000 for the worthy cause Solving Kids’ Cancer. The group completed the gruelling 140-mile hilly Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge to support children and their families in the fight against rare childhood cancer, neuroblastoma. The cyclists came together from different departments, with an age range of 25 to 58 years old. With the help of Iain Coxon in the support vehicle, the team took on the challenge of riding from Whitehaven to Tynemouth, a route which included 12,000 ft of intimidating hill climbing.
It took immense team spirit to complete the journey across two of the country's toughest mountain ranges - The Lake District and The Pennines. Yet they were united by a cause close to everyone’s hearts. GCW’s lease advisory director, Adam Cohen, has a son called Jake who is currently fighting this awful disease, and everyone was proud to have lent their support.
