GCW victorious in Elifar’s 25th year

In a battle of quirky contests, the GCW team emerged triumphant at this year’s annual Elifar Challenge.

Taking the title jointly with a JLL/Schroders team, proudly captained by Phil Fishwick, associate director who said, tongue-in-cheek, that a ‘mixture of barking and trust’ got his team over the finish line. “I provided a high-level of guidance with a smidgen of over competitiveness,”  he added.

Now in its 25th year, The Elifar Foundation aims to improve the care, facilities and equipment available to disabled children and young adults.

GCW managing partner, Duncan Kite is an ambassador,  and part-organiser of the event, which the company has taken part in every year.

Specifically aimed at the retail sector, Captain Fishwick said: “We’re competing against our peers in a fun environment but one which is making a difference. You're not pitching for the same jobs and trying to win work off each other, so it is nice to be in such a lively competition.”

Philippe Micheal, GCW director, added: “As a business we are passionate about making a tangible difference in the communities we live and work in and our ongoing support of Elifar forms part of our long-term commitment to social impact.”

Planning is already underway for the teams 2024 commitments - albeit the training might be behind a beat.
