Majestic Wines has signed on for a 3,066 sq ft store, taking a 15-year lease with a break clause after 10 years. The wine company will pay an annual rent of £90,000.
“We are delighted to announce completion at Gardiner Place, which is a fantastic milestone not only for the team involved but for the wider Henley town. The work has been completed in the face of Covid-19; and will open-up the heart of the town centre,” said Ilan Goldman, director at Catalyst Capital, the developer behind the scheme.
“We’re looking forward to Majestic Wines opening their doors and are also in discussions with a number of further occupiers for the retail and leisure space who are looking to take occupation in 2021. The luxury two- and three-bedroom apartments are also proving popular with a number already reserved; providing attractive homes to both young professionals and down-sizers alike.”
John Colley, chief executive of Majestic Wines, added: “Henley is a town we have been hoping to enter for a number of years, so finding the right location for our new store was vital. We know we already have a number of customers in the area, and our new team are eager to get started and help residents discover some fantastic new wines, beers and spirits - as well as taking advantage of our free tasting counter, delivery services and expert advice.”
